We had heard good things about Scalini Fedeli but just never got the chance to go there. Last night we were treated to one of the best meals in Morris County and beyond. Our server was really good and helpful especially since the 3 course price fix menu can be confusing for first timers. The chef started us out with an excellent scrimp dish and my appetizer of Ecuadorian shrimp in a Roma tomato, mustard and basil reduction with honeydew melon, prosciutto and buffalo mozzarella was super as was Leslie’s Pignoli crusted salmon over roasted eggplant, peppers, onions and currants with a wine, lemon and basil sauce was excellent. Don was nice enough to let me try his Capellini with Maryland crabmeat, leeks and pepperoncini in a prosecco broth which was my second choice for an appetizer. All four of us loved every course but my desert of banana tart was especially good. My photos are below but don’t do the food justice.
